Rental War Stories – Part 1: Who’s Hiding in the Weeds?  Founder Lamar Hunt Jr. has seen all kinds of problems when buying homes and talking to other landlords.  He likes to pass these war stories on.

One investor was looking at a rural property. The property had a house near the front and storage shed in the rear.  As the investor walked the property checking out everything thoroughly, he found a large field behind the shed. The field had tall weeds and overgrown bushes.  While he could walk through the weeds and squeeze between the bushes, that would mean getting dirty and possibly ruining his starched cotton Dockers, not to mention his polished loafers. With discretion the better part of valor, he decided the let his yard crew take care of the mess. So, a month later after the investor had purchased and closed on the property, his yard crew called him up with a problem.
